DUS International
"All human life can be found in an airport." - David Walliams
Düsseldorf International Airport; IATA: DUS, ICAO: EDDL) is the international airport of Düsseldorf, the capital of the German state North Rhine-Westphalia. It is located approximately 7 kilometres (4.3 mi) north of downtown Düsseldorf, and some 20 kilometres (12 mi) south-west of Essen in the Rhine-Ruhr area, Germany's largest metropolitan area. Düsseldorf is the third largest airport in Germany after Frankfurt and Munich handling 21.8 million passengers in 2014. It serves as a hub for Air Berlin, Germanwings and Eurowings and additionally features Lufthansa's only long-haul route (to Newark) outside of its hubs in Frankfurt and Munich. It features three terminals and two runways and is able to handle wide-body aircraft up to the Airbus A380. Source: Wikipedia
Even though I do not consider myself as a traditional plane-spotter I have often visited my "home-airport" since my early days as an aviation photographer, starting in the mid-70s. There are many more DUS-shots in the archive so that the set will certainly be updated with the time.
